This product is mainly used as an antibacterial. However it is also very useful as an anti parasite for the tiny organisms i.e. white spot and skin flukes, the dose rate for Chloramine T is 10 grams per 4500 litres (1000 gallons) and may be used up to 3 times in 14 days Please follow instructions on the label carefully. If there has been a DIP TEST carried out and this shows a high bacterial count in the water or there are fish that have ulcers, which could also indicate a high bacterial presence in the water. Then Chloramine t would be recommended. It would also be better to use Chloramine T if there were a slight water quality problem. It would also be recommended to do a substantial water change if there is a water quality problem before introducing any treatment into the pond. The Term Water Quality Problem refers to a presence of Ammonia, Nitrite, and or a pH level below 6.5 or above 9.0 the Ideal pH being 7.5 with an Ammonia and Nitrite readings of Zero or very close to it. Chloramine T should be Used as a Preventative treatment on regular basis 3-4 times a year. The benefits of reducing the background bacteria populations in the water, makes for major improvements in Water quality. This treatment used in conjunction with either daily or weekly water changes will have even greater benefits on fish health, growth and stability of the pond in general | |
