Our Spindrifter Aerated Bottom Drain is known worldwide for its quality and design. This Spindrifter Aerated Bottom Drain completely replaces the "Standard Bottom Drain."

The most noticeable feature of the Spindrifter Aerated Bottom Drain is the extra pressure pipe connection in the sump of the drain. This allows air to enter the aerator via our Direct Air Feed kit. This extra connection allows air to flow into the support stem independent of the water outlet pipe , thus eliminating the possibility of restriction to the water flow and somewhere else for blanket weed to attach.

The membrane and backing plate on the Spindrifter Aerated Bottom Drain fits into a recess in the specially manufactured dome (provided). The recess in the Spindrifter Aerated Bottom Drain prevents the membrane from becoming detached. The complete assembly is secured to the Spindrifter Aerated Bottom Drain by means of a stem, which also provides the air inlet. We manufacture our Spindrifter Aerated Bottom Drains in 2 standard configurations. The IMPERIAL model has a 4" Pressure Water Outlet and a 1" Air Inlet whilst the METRIC model has a 110mm Pressure Water Outlet and a 40mm Air Inlet.

In this application self tapping screws are not considered to be suitable to clamp the thick bases of the tank between the flanges of the bottom drain. To overcome this problem the self tappers are replaced by machine screws which engage with brass threaded inserts fitted to the flange attached to the sump of the bottom drain
